Planning Task 5: Photography Planning

Who will be used as models?

The models in the covers of the january and february editions will feature one male and one female, in order to represent Atelier as a diverse and inclusive magazine. It is important to have diversity in my photography not only to be inclusive, but to also ensure that the editions of atelier don’t become repetitive.

What thought should be given to mise-en-scene?

The costume of my models in the January photoshoot will be stylish, winter-focused and fashionable, as january is a colder month so it wouldn’t make sense to have models wearing summer clothing. My article on FASHION’S FRESH FACE: an exclusive interview with Oscar Sorel, 2026’s rising designer will be the cover photo for this edition. Costumes of my Feburary models will either be very linked to valentines day or spring fashion, as the cover article for this month will be SPRING INTO STYLE: The streetwear trends for the upcoming season.

The location of my models in January will most likely be an indoor location, as I want my cover photo to look professional and represent  the model as a credible fashion designer. The location of my February issue will be outdoors as i am focusing on streetwear.

My photoshoots will likely have minimal props to maintain a clean and stylish atmosphere within the magazine's photoshoot.

The body language of my models will be confident and strong, as this is the tone Atelier magazines will give off, and this will also make my models and magazine seem more inticing to the audience

As for lighting, the january edition will have warm, cozy lighting to reflect the winter months however my february issue will have natural, outdoor lighting to reflect the upcoming spring season.
